​Welcome

 On behalf of the members of the "Kaptivating" Kappa Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Incorporated,  I would like to welcome you to our official chapter website!   We are one of the first chapters chartered in the Notable Northeastern Region and have proudly served the New York City and Harlem community since  July 28, 1936. The women of Kappa Sigma are phenomenal and multi-generational,  from various educational and professional backgrounds. 

 

For over 86 years, Kappa Sigma has maintained an unwavering commitment to service, sisterhood and scholarship. Since inception, we have offered a number of enriching programs that benefited our youth, the underserved, and underrepresented. 

 

We invite you to join us in our programming efforts which are based on our sorority's  five essential programs; 

Operation Big Book Bag, Project Cradle Care, Swim 1922, Sigma Youth Symposium and the Women’s Wellness Initiative.

 

In addition to our essential programs , we locally support food pantries, youth empowerment organizations, voter education, and awarded hundreds of college bound students with scholarships just to name a few. 

 

We welcome you to return to our website for updates regarding our programs, scholarship, and community involvement. As our sorority approaches our Centennial , we will continue our efforts to create new ways to serve and engage with our surrounding communities. The best has yet to come !
